I want to change my email to irene.smith.lax@gmail.com?

What do you guys think? (I put "smith" in place of my real last name). It didn't have my name, but I didn't want to use the year of my birth.. so I put LAX like LA/Airport.

Let me know since this will be perm, thanks!

OMG! It's so scary close to mine! Not the name but the way it's done. Soooo freaky! I put the dots in the same place plus something --x

Anyway. I like mine! So I'd like yours.
Reply:Isn't that bit long? and bit long to tell someone, think that you are advising your id to someone over phone.
Reply:鈾?thats fine
Reply:I would use my name in an email address if I were you.

And people wonder why identity theft happens to them...

Reply:Relying on the basics my mother taught me. She learned her conservative/frugal skills as a child during the aftermath of the Great Depression. I was raised to be frugal and it is during times like these that it does pay off. What I do is this:

Keep a well stocked pantry with items we use frequently. Only buy them when they are on sale and stock up. Canned goods and paper goods do not go bad.

Limit my errands to one or two days a week. Cluster all errands in nearby areas together. This way I use less gas.

Grow a vegetable garden. I currently grow strawberries, peas, beans tomatoes, squash, onions and asparagus. Grow what you like to eat most.

Close all shades during the heat of the day. It will keep your house cooler and use less energy for air conditioning. Turn of lights and appliances when not in use.

The only things I have changed during this economic downturn is I go out to eat a lot less and I avoid impulse buying by sticking to a list of essentials.

I have also cut back on movie-going. I only see one or two blockbusters on the big screen. The rest I wait until they come out on video and I rent them.
